Why Cycling Abroad From Lisbon to Porto
Cycling from Manchester to London is one of our popular Cycling Abroad trips. It combines all the best that a multi days bicycle touring trip can offer. You will start your journey from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, and finish at Heathrow Airport near London. You will travel crossing the beautiful French countryside, along the courved La Saine River, joining from time to time La Seine à Vélo. You will visiting the village of Auvers-sur-Oise, where Vincent van Gogh made his last paintings, and where he died, and the vilage Giverny, where you can visit Claude Monet’s beautiful Gardens.
Cycling along the Saine river, and southe of the city of Rouen, you will reach the beautiful city of Honfleur, situated on the cost of the Atlantic Ocean. From there you will ride along the beaches of Normandy, visiting several attractions, such as the American Cemetery and Memorial, and Omaha Beach, one of the landing beachs in WW2.
After 7 or 8 riding days (depands on your specific plan) you will arrive the coastal city of Cherbourg. You will take the ferry to Portsmouth in England. Thoe there you will continue riding for 2 days more along the English beautiful countryside, directrly to your final destination: Heathrow Airport near London.

Lisbon to Porto Trip Details – Day by Day
Pre Departure Day
If you arrive to Lisbon early enough, you can either arrange your bicycle and start your trip. Otherwise, I would suggest you to stay overnight in the city. But if you arrive late, I would recommend you to stay near the airport, at the Holiday Inn Express Lisbon Airport
.
Day 1 (First riding day)
After breakfast, we start our first bicycle ride in Portugal, from Lisbon to Porto. We ride along mostly paved roads, as well as local streets.
