
Why Cycling Abroad From Rome to Venice
With e-Bikes
Our self guided, multi days cycling trip from Rome to Venice, along the Pilica River may not be the most popular one, but for sure it is very charming and enjoable trip. It combines all the best that a multi days bicycle touring trip can offer. You will start your journey from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, and finish at Heathrow Airport near London. You will travel crossing the beautiful French countryside, along the courved La Saine River, joining from time to time La Seine à Vélo. You will visiting the village of Auvers-sur-Oise, where Vincent van Gogh made his last paintings, and where he died, and the vilage Giverny, where you can visit Claude Monet’s beautiful Gardens.
Cycling along the Saine river, and southe of the city of Rouen, you will reach the beautiful city of Honfleur, situated on the cost of the Atlantic Ocean. From there you will ride along the beaches of Normandy, visiting several attractions, such as the American Cemetery and Memorial, and Omaha Beach, one of the landing beachs in WW2.
After 7 or 8 riding days (depands on your specific plan) you will arrive the coastal city of Cherbourg. You will take the ferry to Portsmouth in England. Thoe there you will continue riding for 2 days more along the English beautiful countryside, directrly to your final destination: Heathrow Airport near London.

Rome to Venice Trip Details – Day by Day
Day 1
Assuming you arrive to Rome at noon time, you can take a taxi to the city, rent your bikes and start your trip. You can also leave your spare bags at Air Rooms Rome Airport by HelloSky.

Day 2
After breakfast, we start our 62Km bicycle ride north of Pairs. We ride along paved and unpaved bicycle roads, as well as local streets. On our way, we visit the village of Auvers-sur-Oise, where Vincent Van Gogh died, on Jul 30, 2020. Our final destination is our small hotel near the town of Gaillon-Sur-Montcient, just 3 Km north of La Saine River, about 49Km west of Paris.

Day 3
On this day, we ride along the Saine River. Besides riding on some beautiful bicycle roads, we will visit Claude Monet’s garden at Giverny. We spend the night near Romilly-Sur-Andelle, just on the La-Andelle stream, 2 Km north of the Saine River.

Day 4
We continue riding along the Seine River, in some of it’s parts we are riding along La Seine à Vélo. Most of our ride today is south of the city of Rouen.

Day 5
This is the last day of riding along the Saine River. After visiting the charming and famous city of Honfleur, We finally reach our hotel, lays near the Atlantic ocean.

Day 6
On this day, we begin our 3 days riding along the beaches of Normandy. We spend the night near the village of Ver-sur-Mer.

On this day we visit several places related to WW2.

Day 8
This is our last day in France. We ride to Cherbourg. After visiting the port, we board our Ferry for a 9 hours journey to the other side of the canal. We will arrive at the port of Portsmouth around 6 in the morning.
